Big song from the 70s right? Hot Rod Lincoln here on 1039 WSOS. I don’t know, Andrew Linn, you don’t drive a Lincoln, do you?
No sir.
Yeah, if you had a Lincoln, that’s the kind of song that you want to play at least every once in a while.
Absolutely. That reminds me of The Lincoln Lawyer TV show.
Oh yeah, you know that’s been revamped. Have you seen it on Amazon Prime with the guy that’s, uh, I think he’s from Mexico? But I love that show.
Actually, I do too. He’s a defense lawyer in Los Angeles. Highly recommend it. I think it’s on Prime.
Hey, we’re spending time with Andrew Linn. We appreciate him, and he is the broker at ERA ONETEAM. ERA ONETEAM has offices right here in St. John’s County. Go to ERAONETEAM.com. And of course, a lot of folks, Andrew, have choices to make when they’re thinking of selling their home, maybe downsizing, upsizing, buying a home. Lots of changes are going on in the real estate business and a lot of choices that they have. Why should they work with ERA ONETEAM?
Yeah, so, uh, one, thanks for having me on. One of the things that we, as a collective and as a brokerage, have decided to do—and every brokerage has a decision to make on how they represent the public—in the state of Florida, there are two ways: single agency, which is what we’ve chosen to do as a broker, or a transaction broker. And by default, the state of Florida is a transaction brokerage state, which means they represent the transaction to purchase, buy, or sell a home. Single agency means that we have a fiduciary responsibility to one party and represent that party in the transaction, holding confidence, full confidentiality, and full disclosure to the party that we represent. So we, as a brokerage, have decided to truly represent one part of the transaction, either the buyer or seller. And so I think it’s one of the things that makes us different—to truly represent the party.
I’ll give you an example, Kevin. I got a call from my trainer. We have a full-time trainer at the office, and she’s like, “You’re not going to believe this one.” One of our agents was competing for one of our opportunities and our leads, and she says she went through the example of the single agency versus transaction broker, and that’s what helped her earn that business.
Wow.
And so when you truly articulate and explain to somebody how they’re being represented, not just by default because it’s a state regulation, the customer was like, “That’s what I want.” So that’s one of the big things that really sets us apart in our market.
Yeah, well, it builds trust, right? Right. Right. Once again, check out the website ERAONETEAM.com. ERAONETEAM.com. And of course, with your agency, you guys have been around for a long time. You have a major presence here in this part of South Georgia and Northeast Florida, but you bring a team attitude to it, right?
We were having a little fun off the air beforehand because Andrew used to be a professional—well, I was going to say professional baseball player, but you were a college baseball player, which is quite the level to attain.
In my dreams, I was a professional but not.
Did you ever think—I’m sure you thought, right, when you were a kid?
Yeah, you know, and especially when you’re playing college ball, you think, “Hey, why not?”
Yeah, well, it was always a dream of mine. I joke, we joke and laugh, but it was actually one of my big dreams and goals to do that. My dad’s old business partner, who I still work with my dad today, was like, “You’re going to be a coach one day. You’re going to do this, you’re going to do this,” you know, after baseball. And it’s funny because we laugh about it today. I don’t coach. I tried to do that when I came back after college. But in a way, I’m kind of doing that because I’m running a team and organizations and groups. And hence kind of why the name—you know, ERA ONETEAM. It was RA Davis and Linn for a long time. And since we merged with our partner SVR to bring into our St. John’s County office and our Palm Coast office, all that to be said, we are a team. And that’s one of the things we do—we act as a team, we collaborate as a team, and we work together as opposed to working in silos. So it’s one of the things I think culturally we bring, whether it be intentional or not; it’s what we do. And so I think that does come from my baseball experience.
Shortstop, right?
Second base.
Second base. Well, you could do shortstop, couldn’t you?
I could.
Pretty good hitter?
I was more of an in-between-the-lines line-drive guy. I wasn’t a home run guy. I had a couple.
Got on base, though?
Got on base. I had a couple collegiate home runs but more of a line-drive, get-on-base guy.
Yeah. Andrew Linn is here with us. You can learn more about the ERA ONETEAM and their presence here in Northeast Florida by going to ERAONETEAM.com. ERAONETEAM.com. Of course, ERA has a national presence, but with ERA ONETEAM, you know, a lot of folks, especially if you know family members or friends, and they’re up in New York, New Jersey, or Ohio right now, say, “Hey, I want to move to Florida, but I don’t know where.” Or maybe they’ve narrowed it down. Probably they have to Northeast Florida. But let’s face it, people sometimes have a tough choice deciding between, “Am I going to live in Southeast Georgia? Am I going to live in Ponte Vedra? Do I want to live in Palm Coast?” Those are very distinctive places within an amazing region that’s arguably paradise.
Right.
But you can help them with that because you have a presence in all these different markets within Northeast Florida.
That’s right. And that’s one of the things I think too. I mean, we see a difference from Palm Coast to St. Augustine to Amelia Island. It’s different. And so one of the things we do hear a lot, Kevin, is, “Well, I’m moving from South Florida. I’m coming.” This is nothing like South Florida. It’s nothing like it. Of course, we know we talk about this paradise. It’s different. And so, from the real estate market to the culture to everything, it is a great place to live, from the weather to activities in St. Augustine that have been around for a long time. Highly recommend. And of course, that’s the one thing that ERA ONETEAM can bring—is that perspective of all the different markets that are all within this great region, but they are very different. And they understand the differences in real estate between Palm Coast and Ponte Vedra, for example. They are very different places, but they’re great in their own regard, very, very distinctive. And that’s something somebody coming here from out of state really needs to get caught up on or get educated very quickly as to what those differences are.
Right.
And part of being part of a national brand and a local market—again, being born and raised here—it is definitely an advantage to have the national resources, network, statistics, and stats, but then having local agents who are from this market to truly interject exactly what you just said.
Well, you can connect with ERA ONETEAM. Check them out online, share that web address with family and friends who are either here or out of state, or they’re thinking about real estate. You know, a lot of people are going to be buying or selling in 2025. That’s just weeks away now. ERAONETEAM.com. That’s ERAONETEAM.com. We’re going to put all this information up on our Facebook and Instagram as well. You can go old school and also call them at 904-887-6366. That’s 904-887-6366.
